FIJI Run

The first FIJI Fun Run took place on November 22nd, 2008. The run was a combined effort between the Missouri State Delta Colony and the University of Arkansas Phi Alpha Chapter. The Phi Alpha Chapter left Fayetteville, AR at 9:00pm on Friday night and met up with the Delta Colony around 5:00am on Saturday morning. From there, the Delta Colony at Missouri State along with two Arkansas brothers ran to Springfield, MO where they culminated in front of the brand new JQH Arena (picture) around 3:00 pm. The total trip was approximately 120 miles.
In a combined effort, both chapters raised money to be donated to The American Red Cross. The total amount raised was over $11,500!! We would like to thank all of the businesses and personal sponsorships that made this event possible including TJ Sales for donating the T-Shirts, The Copy Shoppe for their printing services, Chipotle for free dinner afterwards, Missouri State University for thier assistance, and our sponsors American Family Insurance Agent Miranda Webster, Hammons Product Company, Coldwell Banker agents Ethel Curbow, Stacey Clem, and Kirk and Barbera Hewitt, Mary Shied from Physical Therapy Specialists Clinic, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa, and all of the individuals who contributed. We couldn't have done it without you!
The opening of JQH Arena in Springfield, MO was Saturday November 22nd when the Bears took on the Arkansas Razorbacks. JQH is a $67 million project on the campus of Missouri State. Both chapters were represented at half court during halftime when a check was presented to The American Red Cross.
