As part of our history, nine men consisting of: Wes Martin, Shayne Martin, Garrett Holt, Travis Reed, Matt Wynn, John Busch, Nick Eckelkamp, Brian Fellows, and Sagar 'CJ' Tolani started this colony of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta at Missouri State University.
Wes Martin is from Bryant, Arkansas and came to Missouri State in the fall of 2005. Wes was the first president and has served as Pledge Educator and Graduate Relations Chair. Wes was active in the organization which he helped create called, "the suits". The suits were dedicated to being extreme fans of the MSU men's basketball team.
Sagar Tolani first started out at Missouri State in the fall of 2002 and became a member of the fraternity as a graduate student at MSU. Sagar, commonly known as CJ, picked chemistry as his field of study and heralds from the city of Columbia, Missouri but originally is of Indian origin and spent several years living in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. CJ served as the first treasurer of the colony.
Brian Fellows is from Lee's Summit, Missouri. Brian served as the first recording secretary of the fraternity for two terms and began going to MSU in the fall of 2006, he was only a freshman. Brian was active in the Centennial Leaders program and also served as a campus tour guide along with dawning the "Buster" the bear costume regularly at MSU athletic events. Brian enjoys long walks on the beach and smooth beverages.
Shayne Martin came to Missouri State in the fall of 2004 and majored in History. Shayne claims Bunker, Missouri as his home and also held active leadership roles in other organizations on campus including officer roles in the National Honors Society in history, Phi Alpha Theta. Shayne served as the first historian and scholarship chair in the fraternity.
Garrett Holt was admitted to Missouri State in the fall of 2004. Garrett was also involved in, "the suits" organization and came to Phi Gamma Delta with a wide variety of educational backgrounds including mathematics, physical education, and history. Garrett was a member of the National Honors Society, Phi Alpha Theta, which claims honors in the field of History. Garrett served as the first Recruitment chair which brought in 15 recruits. Garrett heralds from Washington, Missouri and was the second treasurer.
John Busch came to MSU in the fall of 2005 and chose the major of Hospitality and Restaurant Administration. John joined Fiji and immediately became a contributing member. John is from Waterloo, Illinois and was the second president of Phi Gamma Delta at MSU.
Travis Reed was a transfer student coming from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. Travis was the only initiated member when Fiji first colonized as he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta at William Jewell. Travis came originally from Chillicothe, MO. On a side note, when anyone in the fraternity is referring to a person being smooth with women they are normally called, "Travis". Travis served as the first Pledge Educator of the fraternity.
Matt Wynn was admitted to MSU in the fall of 2005 and was initiated into the fraternity as a part of the Solid Ten. Matt is a native to Springfield, Missouri and attended local Kickapoo High School. Matt was a sociology major and minored in Spanish with aspirations to higher law enforcement one day. Matt served as the first Brotherhood Chair of the fraternity.
Nicholas Eckelkamp came to MSU from Washington, Missouri, just like Garrett. Nick was a transfer student from East Central College and caught on at Missouri State quickly. Nick was the first Social Chairman of the Fraternity and was in charge of several successful events such as our Purple Garter Semi-Formal.
